Parkvale Bank’s POWer Team was formed after the acquisition of Advance Financial Bank in December 2004. It is comprised of employees from eight offices in PA., Ohio and WV.

POWER TEAM COMMUNITY PARTNER

Parkvale Bank’s POWer Team exerts its charitable efforts toward the Salvation Army. The “POW” in POWer is an acronym that stands for Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. The team primarily distributes the funds it collects to Salvation Army posts throughout Ohio and West Virginia in the communities where many members of the POWer Team live and work.

The Salvation Army provides those in need with support, guidance, and opportunities for personal development. To deliver a wide range of programs to meet the needs of the local communities it serves, the Salvation Army works with area churches, charities and other organizations. POWER TEAM CITY OUTREACH UPDATE

With two employees recently diagnosed with cancer, the POWer Team signed on to be a third time sponsor of the Brooke County Relay for Life, a major fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event took place June 20 and 22, 2008 on the campus of Indian Creek High School in Wintersville, Ohio. To raise money for the event, the Team held a used book sale, Friday bake sales and raffles. Relay "Hope" bracelets were also sold at each of the branches.

POWer Team Car Show On July 27, 2008, the POWer team held its major fundraiser of the year, a car show at the Wellsburg Dollar General Market. Auto enthusiasts were encouraged to enter their vehicles in the show or to check out the hot rods on display. All proceeds were administered to local Salvation Army posts.

In continuing efforts, members of Parkvale Bank’s POWer Team raises funds for their charitable efforts by selling chocolate candy in each member-branch. As customers conduct their banking at a teller window, they are encouraged to purchase the candy products and contribute to a good cause.
