NORTH STARZ TEAM COMMUNITY PARTNER
Parkvale Bank’s North Starz Team supports the Victim Outreach Intervention Center, a non-profit organization known by the acronym VOICe.

The mission of VOICe is to provide free and confidential services to victims of violent crime and abuse, allowing survivors to take back control of their lives.

The group accomplishes this mission through its emergency crisis shelter, a 24-hour emergency hotline, group/individual counseling, various advocacy programs and other services. To learn more about VOICe and its activities visit the organization’s site on the Internet at www.voiceforvictims.com.
NORTH STARZ OUTREACH UPDATE

The North Starz Team has come up with a unique way to raise funds for VOICe. Individual team offices partner with their business customers in a win-win situation for both the branch and the business. On Fridays, branch employees wear golf shirts with the business customer’s logo on the front. The business customer donates $25 per shirt, with the proceeds going toward VOICe. In-branch signage lets walk-in customers know that the business customer is helping Parkvale support VOICe. Since February 2007, this fundraising event has helped the North Starz collect over $1,000 for their charity.

The Second Annual Murder Mystery Dinner, the North Starz’ major fundraising event of the year, was held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Camelot in Warrendale. The show, entitled “Mobsters, Molls & Marinara,” featured the talented cast of actors from Mystery’s Most Wanted. Last year's Murder Mystery Dinner took place Saturday, October 20, at the North Park Clubhouse on Route 8 in Gibsonia where, as an added bonus, a Mario Lemieux hockey stick was raffled off during dinner.

Throughout January and February, the North Starz held a donation drive called “Valentines for VOICe.” The program raised a total of $160 and also asked customers and employees to donate useful items to put into gift baskets for women staying in VOICe’s transitional housing. Items such as hairbrushes, combs, body lotion, make up kits and toothbrushes were collected. North Starz team members assembled the gift baskets and delivered them to the women.

As for this summer's events, the North Starz geared up to host a picnic lunch benefitting VOICe Thursday, June 12. Backpacks and school supplies were collected and then delivered in August.

For details on how to contribute or participate, contact North Starz Team Leader, Wexford Branch Manager Tammy Czyz at 724-933-7600. Thank you for helping Parkvale Bank support the Victim Outreach Intervention Center.
